The Cloister – Season Two

I just wanted to share with you today a little update on recent developments here at Monastic retreats.

Some of you may be aware that just before Easter we made the decision to close our social media accounts. I have been reading and listening to lots of research recently on the effect of social media on our minds and our society and although I have loved being able to engage with people via both instagram and Facebook I feel my time could be better spent focussing on other areas of our ministry.

Stepping away from social media doesn’t however mean that our work and ministry here at Monastic Retreats is coming to a close. Spending time not creating social media content will enable me to focus on improving Our website (which has just had a redesign), our monthly emails which will be expanded, this our fortnightly podcast and also our Advent and Lent devotionals.

Later this year we will also be releasing our liturgical journal ‘Ora et Labora’ for the liturgical year 25/26, instead of producing seasonal editions as we have this year, we will be producing one beautiful year long edition.

So our work here in helping monasteries promote their retreats is still very much continuing and alongside that producing spiritual formation resources to encourage you in your work with the Lord.
