National Retreat Week 2024
We are all busy juggling everyday life and it can be difficult to take time out to reflect, contemplate or pray.
Taking time out to pause, breathe and reset the rhythm of our lives is invaluable. Let’s say it’s a retreat to go forward… a time to trust in God more, to nourish your soul, a chance to check-in with your life’s direction, to look afresh and to renew:all.
National Retreat Week – renew:all (21st -28th Sept 2024) is a call to be intentional about finding and setting that time – alone or with others – whether during the week itself or at any time throughout the year. We produce resources with experienced retreat leaders, and share other ideas and inspiration from across Christian traditions to help you do that.
National Retreat week – renew:all is managed and coordinated by The Royal Foundation of St Katharine, a Christian retreat, conference and community centre in East London – for people of all backgrounds from across the UK.
The renew:all initiative is endorsed by Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell and supported by The Retreat Association, The Association for Promoting Retreats and Archway.
A variety of retreat centres, organisations and churches across denominations are taking part to promote the idea of individual and collective retreats rooted in Christian traditions, supporting the renewal of body, mind and spirit.
Half Day Guided Retreat
his half day guided retreat has been written in support of national retreat week.
The prayer of Examen has been a spiritual practice which has helped me immensely over the past three years, this half day retreat will take you gently through the process of praying the examen following these five steps.
1. Become aware of God’s presence.
2. Review the day with gratitude.
3. Pay attention to your emotions.
4. Choose one feature of the day and pray from it.
5. Look toward to tomorrow.
I pray it is a blessing to you in your pilgrimage.
