Many believe that St Benedict wrote his Rule for monks in the later part of his life as the distillation of a lifetime of experience. It proposes a wise and carefully balanced set of elements which go together to create a life that nourishes and feeds our truest selves.
This retreat hopes to offer you a taste of that life, to live for a short while according to a different rhythm. There is space to live alongside the monastic community and other fellow pilgrims, to walk, to read, to be in silence, to pray alone and with the monastic community, to discuss and share, to allow yourself to be fed by the beauty of the world around you.
Each day a different member of the community will offer food for reflection – aspects of St Benedict’s wisdom that might help to enrich your life. This retreat offers the opportunity to step back for a short while and leave renewed, able to re-engage with your life with fresh energy and wisdom.
This guided retreat includes full board and light refreshments.
