An opportunity to explore the tradition and practice of meditation within Christianity – and an encouragement to try it for yourself this Advent!
Mark Ball will be presenting an overview of the biblical roots and historical development of meditation as taught by the Catholic Benedictine John Main. He will be facilitating our practical engagement in meditating together – and resourcing us for a contemplative Advent countdown!
The Revd Mark Ball is a Benedictine Oblate of the ecumenical World Community for Christian Meditation. He serves the Community in a voluntary capacity as Director of the WCCM School, resourcing and supporting the teaching of meditation in over seventy countries. He works as Associate Priest in Rochester and Borstal Parishes and as Lead Retail Chaplain with the Canary Wharf Multifaith Chaplaincy.
This event is organised in association with Rochester Diocese Spirituality Network.
Join us at 9.30 for a 10am start, the day ends at 3pm. Hot drinks and biscuits are provided; please bring your own lunch. There is no fixed charge for the day but a suggested donation of £15-£25.
