Advent has themes of darkness and light, of calamity and judgement, but also images of roads being made straight, of rivers in the desert, of hope and re-creation. And at its heart is the story of Mary and her willingness to accept God’s call despite her confusion and fears as she hears the angel’s words – for nothing will be impossible with God. On this Quiet day, we will spend time considering hearing those words for ourselves in our own times of darkness and light.
Sue Smith is a retired Anglican priest who lives in Faversham, she spent time in ministry as a self-supporting minister in both Southwark and Rochester diocese. Her professional role, prior to ordination, was as a university lecturer in children’s nursing. She has been a spiritual director for some time, something she really enjoys and learns much from.
This event is organised in association with Rochester Diocese Spirituality Network.
Join us at 9.30 for a 10am start, the day ends at 3pm. Hot drinks and biscuits are provided; please bring your own lunch. There is no fixed charge for the day but a suggested donation of £15-£25.
